Creating a supporter account FAQ

If you’re supporting creators on Ko-fi, creating an account offers some great benefits. You can unlock exclusive supporter-only rewards, easily track your payments, and connect with the creators you love.

Having trouble receiving a confirmation email, accessing supporter-only content, or signing up with the wrong email? Find answers to the most common questions here!

 

Do I need an account to support a creator?

You don't need an account to support a creator, but having an account lets you access supporter-only content and easily track your payments.

If you pay as a guest, we'll send you a link to connect your payment to a Ko-fi account or create one after you've paid.

How do I create an account?

You can create an account anytime here. Just follow the steps to get set up!

You can also create an account after you’ve supported a creator by following the link on the support confirmation page or the link at the bottom of the email you receive.

I didn’t receive the confirmation email to activate my account

When you create an account, you will be prompted to confirm your email to activate your account. You’ll receive an email from Ko-fi@ko-fi.com with a link and a code.

You can click the link provided or enter the code manually to activate your account.

If you didn’t get your verification email, here’s what to do:

  • Look in your spam, junk, social, and trash folders. Sometimes emails will be sent there.

  • Resend the verification email. Log in and go to your Payments & Orders page to resend it.

  • Check your email address. If you entered the wrong one, you can create a new account here. If you paid someone using the wrong email or you’re still having trouble, you can reach out and we’ll help link it to the right account.

 

My verification link is expired

Verification links expire after a while for security reasons. If yours is expired, here’s what you can do.

  • Enter the verification code manually. Instead of clicking the verification link, try entering the code provided instead.

  • Resend the verification email. Log in to your account and go to your Payments & Orders page to get a new one.

If the new link doesn't work, reach out and we'll help you sort it out.

 

I signed up with the wrong email!

Used the wrong email? No worries, just reach out with the following info:

  • The wrong email signed up with
  • The right email
  • The creator’s link you supported
  • Date of payment
  • Amount of payment

Can I switch from a creator account to a supporter account?

Right now, there's no option to switch directly from a creator account to a supporter account. But you can still support other creators with your creator account!

If you want to stop accepting payments:

  1. Go to your Payment Settings.

  2. Disconnect your payment method by clicking “Connected”.

Once you've done this, you won’t accept new payments on Ko-fi. You can still support other creators as usual!

 

Why can’t I see supporter-only content?

You’ll need a Ko-fi account to see supporter-only content. We’ll send you an email after payment to create an account and link your payment.

Make sure you’re logging in using the email you received the receipt to see your payment. If you’re using a social login, make sure the email of your social account matches the email you input at check-out.

I’m getting an error using “Log in with…”

You can sign up and log in with your Google, X (Twitter), Facebook, or Twitch account. If you're having trouble logging in with a third-party platform, try these steps:

  • Use a different browser or device. This will fix any cookie/caching issues.
  • Log in with your email address and password. If you don't have a password set up yet, you can do that here.

I’m not receiving the password reset email

You can reset your password at any time here. Didn’t get the email? Try these steps:

  • Check your email address. If you’re logged in, go to your Account & Billing to verify your account email. If you’re not sure what email you used to sign up and can’t log in, reach out with the link to your page.
  • Look in your spam, junk, social, and trash folders. Sometimes emails will be sent there.
  • Resend the password reset email by entering your email/handle here.

If you’re still not seeing the email, no worries. Just reach out and we’ll lend a hand.

 

I’m not receiving the account deletion email

If you're not receiving your account deletion email, try this:

  • Check your email address. Confirm it's correct in your Account & Billing.
  • Look in your spam, junk, social, and trash folders. Sometimes emails will be sent there.
  • Resend the deletion email from your Account & Billing.

What information is shared when I create an account?

On Ko-fi, we only ask for a few details to create your account—your email and the name you want to display.

Creators you support will be able to see your display name and email address on Ko-fi.
