Helping your supporters create a Ko-fi account
Supporters with accounts can access exclusive content, track their payments, and stay better connected to you and your work.
If a supporter is having trouble with emails, unlocking content, or signing up with the wrong address, here’s a handy guide you can share or refer to when helping your supporter out.
Do supporters need an account to support me?
Supporters don't need an account to support you, but having one allows them to access supporter-only content and easily track their payments.
If someone supports you as a guest, Ko-fi will send them a link to connect their payment to an account or create one after the payment is complete.
How can supporters create an account?
Supporters can sign up anytime here.
If they’ve already supported you as a guest, they’ll find a link in their confirmation email to register and link their payment.

What if a supporter didn't get their confirmation email?
When a supporter creates an account, they’ll need to confirm their email. They’ll get an email from Ko-fi@ko-fi.com with a link and a code to activate their account.
If they didn’t receive it, here’s what you can advise:
- Ask your supporter to check spam, junk, social, or trash folders
- Ask your supporter to have the confirmation email resent by logging into Ko-fi and heading to the Payments & Orders page. They will be prompted to verify again.
- Ask your supporter to double-check the email used. If it was wrong, they can create a new account on the sign-up page. They will need to reach out to us here to add the transaction to their new page.

What if a supporter’s verification link is expired?
Verification links do expire after 72 hours. Here’s what they can try:
- Enter the code manually instead of clicking the link
- Resend the email from their Payments & Orders page
If that doesn’t work, they can reach out for help.
My supporter signed up with the wrong email?
Mistakes happen! If a supporter used the wrong email, they should contact us here and include:
- The wrong and correct email addresses
- Your Ko-fi page link
- The payment amount and date
We’ll help link the support to the right account.
Can I use a creator account to support other creators?
Yes! Even if someone has a creator account, they can still support others.
If a creator wants to stop accepting payments and just be a supporter:
- Visit Payment Settings
- Click “Connected” to disconnect their payment method
They’ll stop receiving new payments but can still support other creators freely.
Why can’t a supporter see my supporter-only content?
Supporter-only content is visible only to logged-in users with an account linked to a valid transaction.
If someone’s having trouble:
- Confirm they’ve created and logged into a Ko-fi account
- Make sure they’re using the same email they used when supporting
- If using social login, the email from their social account must match their checkout email

If a supporter can’t log in with social media
Supporters can log in using Google, X (Twitter), Facebook, or Twitch. If that’s not working, they can:
- Try another browser or device
- Log in with their email and password instead. If they don't have a password they can set one up here.
