How do I join a Creator’s Discord?

Creators can offer Discord roles as a reward for one-time support or for joining their membership. Usually this benefit gives you access to exclusive channels or extra privileges like badges in Discord.

What is Discord?

Discord is a place where friends and communities talk and hang out. It has voice, text, and video channels in servers for different topics, making it easy to chat about what you like.

How to claim a Discord role

Once you've supported a creator offering Discord roles/invites, you can claim the role directly from the creator's page.

1. 1. Visit the creator's page. If you know the creator's page e.g. ‘ko-fi.com/supportkofi’ then head directly there. If you’re not sure then check for an email receipt or visit your Payment history from the Ko-fi dashboard.

   2. In the green box, click 'Connect to Discord & Claim'. To do this, you'll need to have a Ko-fi account and be logged in with the account you used to support them. If you supported them using a guest account, you'll need to link that transaction to your account. (More information below)

      

   3. Sign in to Discord and Authorize Ko-fi Bot to add and remove Discord roles for you.

      

   4. Your role should now be applied in Discord and displayed under Discord Benefits on the Creator's page.

      

I cannot see the “Connect Discord and Claim” button?

First, check that your Discord account is connected to Ko-fi.

Then to claim the Discord role you will need your payment to the creator to be associated with a Ko-fi account, and you will need to be logged in with the same account from which you paid.

Try logging into Ko-fi and checking your payment and orders tab to locate the payment to that creator.

If you've made a payment as a guest in the last 72 hours (without creating an account), you'll get an email titled 'Confirm Your Membership Payment.' This email has a button you can click to either link the payment to your existing Ko-fi account or to set up a new one.

If you paid as a guest more than 72 hours ago, or the link is not working, please raise a support ticket for assistance linking the transaction to your Ko-fi account.

My role appears on the Creator’s page but Is not assigned?

This can happen if Ko-fi bot can't assign you roles or if another bot interferes with the Ko-fi bot's permissions. Usually to fix this:

Head to the Discord Tab > Press the "Connected" button > Click here to re-authorise Ko-fi Bot to assign roles.

If this does not work, please contact the creator directly and ask them to check their Discord settings with Ko-fi.

Head over to their page and press "Send Message".

If the creator cannot help you, please raise a support ticket.

How do I disconnect my Discord account from Ko-fi?

Head over to your Ko-fi Discord tab > Press the "Connected" button to disconnect.

How do I disconnect Ko-fi bot assigned Discord Roles from my Discord Account?

Ko-fi updates Discord roles based on your payment status. If you qualify for a role, Ko-fi will keep assigning it.

To remove the role, disconnect your Discord server from Ko-fi and then delete your role or exit the server on Discord. Alternatively, you can wait for your subscription to end (if applicable), and the Ko-fi bot will remove your role.
