Blocking and limiting users on Ko-fi
Ko-fi is a friendly and supportive community, and we want to keep it that way! If you've had a bad experience with a user, you can block or limit them. This can remove them as a follower, stop them from paying or messaging you, and let you control who comments on your posts and images.
How to block a user
To block a user, they need to have a Ko-fi account.
- Go to their page (ko-fi.com/theirpage) or find their transaction in Payments and Orders.
- Click the three dots “…”.
- Select "Block."
- Confirm that you want to block this user.
After you block a user
- The blocked user can't support you in future.
- The blocked user can't send you direct messages.
- The blocked user’s future comments on posts will be hidden.
- If they are following you, they will be removed from your followers list.
- The blocked user won't be notified that they've been blocked.
Do blocked users lose access to content?
No, they will only lose the features listed above. To stop access to supporter-only content, you need to cancel or refund their payment. More info here.
Do past comments disappear when blocked?
Only comments made after blocking will be hidden.
Can blocked users make comments, and who can see them?
Yes, blocked users can make comments. However, their comments will be hidden from public view and the creator’s view. Blocked users will still see their comments as normal.
How to unblock a user?
- Go to their page or find their transaction in Payments and Orders.
- Click the three dots “…”.
- Choose "Unblock”.
Will unblocked user comments reappear?
Yes, comments made while blocked will reappear.

Removing a follower
If you want to prevent a follower from receiving your updates, you can remove them from following you. Here's how:
- Go to your followers list on your home dashboard.
- Locate the follower you wish to remove.
- Click to remove them, then confirm.
Your follower won't receive any notification about being removed and won't receive updates from you anymore.
Can removed followers follow again?
Currently, removed followers can re-follow your page. Although, you can consider blocking them using the steps above.

Control who can message you directly
If you want to manage who can send you direct messages, you can set preferences and limit users after they message you.
Control who can message you
- Go to your Page Settings under Direct Messages.
- Choose from:
- Anyone who supports me: Allows any supporter to message you.
- Only supporters who I message first: You initiate the conversation.
Control messages from specific users
To limit users after they message you:
- Go to your Direct Messages.
- Click on "..." on the top right, to view options for managing the conversation.
- From here you can:
Mute this user: stop receiving notifications for replies.
Block this user: stop receiving messages from this user
Delete conversation: remove this conversation from your message history, though the user will still see it until they delete it.

Control who can comment on your content
If you want to manage who can comment on your posts, follow these steps:
- Go to your Page Settings under “Comments”.
- Choose between these options:
- Anyone with a Ko-fi account can comment
- Only supporters can comment

Will blocking a user make them unable to view my page?
No, Ko-fi profiles are public. Blocked supporters can still view your page but they will no longer be able to comment, message or support you.
Can you block someone that does not have a Ko-fi page?
Currently, the user must have a Ko-fi page for you to block them.
